A Little Background!

In the first semester of this course, our class was tasked with creating a short film about chess, which proved to be a challenge for everyone. In the end, I personally learned the importance of effective planning and time management, as it played a major role in this film. We had to condense a cohesive storyline into a one-minute film - yes, exactly one minute. My previous group and I struggled with the time constraints; we spent a decent amount of time in our post-production period cutting the film as much as possible to meet our time limit.

You can find our film here!

For this second and final project, however, we were blessed with more creative liberty!
This is going to be very exciting, and I can't wait to see where this goes!

You'll find my research on cinematography in future blogs!

We are now tasked with creating a two-minute introduction to a film, using any theme and genre we choose. I will once again be focusing on my role as a cinematographer for this project, where I will be sharpening my skills with camera movements, shot composition, and the overall aesthetics of our film.

I will be working with the same group that I worked with for our Chess Film:  James (the director), Kate (the editor), and Nya (the sound designer). We all stuck to the same roles we assigned ourselves previously, mainly because we are all comfortable in our roles and want to hone in on our skills in these areas.
Changing teammates at this stage seemed to be the irresponsible choice because of our chemistry and resounding success in our previous production, so here we are!
